Spring Public Visioning Workshop
05.03.2006

On May 3, 2006, over 150 citizens attended a public visioning workshop to provide their input on how future land use and growth should be managed in the County. Two identical workshops were held, one beginning at 4:00 p.m. and the other beginning at 6:30 p.m. Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato kicked-off the first workshop, and Allegheny County Councilman William Robinson kicked-off the second workshop. A 30-minute introduction was presented before attendees were divided into groups to focus on four future land use options, known as Alternative Development Scenarios. Input was gathered for each of the four Alternative Development Scenarios, which varied in patterns of growth, types of land uses, densities and additions to transportation and utilities.
